Dacre’s Generous Donation to NERAM *
From NERAM:
“Raffle winner Cecilie Tait with donor Dacre King and NERAM curator Belinda Hungerford.
Recent Lounge Room Collector exhibitor and long time NERAM supporter, Dacre King, generously donated a limited edition print by John Perceval, 'Ships at Williamstown', to raise funds for the NERAM Foundation. The lucky winner of the raffle was Cecilie Tait who was absolutely delighted by the news, especially as she has maritime connections. The raffle raised over $1600 and will help NERAM continue to bring exhibitions and programs to Armidale and the wider New England community.
We would like thank Dacre for his generosity. NERAM has always thrived on the support of its community through volunteering and donations and we sincerely appreciate this support.
Congratulations Cecilie, we hope you have fun finding the perfect place to hang your new artwork.”
Dacre’s Research on Ethel Carrick Fox
Dacre is currently researching aspects of the career of Ethel Carrick Fox. In particular investigations are underway looking at her foreshore movements around some of the bays in Sydney harbour. Matching of paintings to exact localities where Ethel would often paint en plein air has uncovered some precise locations where works had been previously undocumented as to location.
Additional research is also being undertaken for other Australian artists whom also used Sydney harbour as the source of their inspiration.
