About the Collector
Dacre has spent the best part of 30 years collecting a range of Australian art, acquiring a diverse collection of over 100 works. His collection includes works from famous contemporary artists Arthur Boyd, Clifton Pugh, Ethel Carrick Fox, Pro Hart, Max Mannix, Ray Crooke, Stewart MacFarlane, Charles Blackman and more.
Growing up in the North Shore of Sydney around Sirius Cove, Dacre came to appreciate the impressionists who captured the wonderful atmosphere he was surrounded by. This would go on to inform large parts of his collection.
Now residing in Armidale, Dacre has been a longtime volunteer and donor at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) and is the current Vice President of Arts National Armidale where he is involved in the coordination of yearly illustrated lectures for Arts National members.
